A Studio That Feels
Like Home

Hi, I'm Danielle! The Neighborhood Music Studio is a cozy, home-based studio in the heart of Carlsbad — the kind of place where kids actually look forward to lessons and parents feel completely at ease.

This isn't a chain music school. Every student gets personalized attention, a curriculum built around how they learn, and a teacher who genuinely celebrates every milestone alongside them. I teach piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice — and I also offer the option to come directly to your home.

I intentionally keep my roster small so I can give each student exactly what they need. When you're here, you're not just another name — you're family.

What We Offer

Lessons & Pricing

Private, one-on-one instruction tailored to your child's pace, personality, and musical goals.

Piano

Ages 7 – Adult

Our specialty. From first notes to intermediate repertoire, lessons are structured, encouraging, and genuinely joyful. The ideal first instrument for young beginners. Adults always welcome.

Guitar

Ages 10 & Up

Acoustic, pop, classical — we build technique and repertoire students love to play. Best for students ages 10 and up who have developed the hand strength and finger coordination to thrive.

Ukulele

All Ages

Joyful, accessible, and perfect for any age. A wonderful first instrument for young children — small hands love it! We make music from the very first lesson.

Voice

All Ages

Pop, classical, Disney, musical theatre, jazz — vocal lessons are personalized to the style and songs that excite each student most.

New to music and under 10? We recommend starting with piano or ukulele as your first instrument. Both are ideal for young beginners. Guitar is a wonderful choice once students are 10 and have developed the hand strength to really enjoy it.

Special Events

Student Recitals

A few times a year, our students step into the spotlight at a real performance venue — and it is absolutely magical. Recitals are one of the most meaningful milestones of the entire year.

Recitals are free to attend. We simply ask for a donation at the door to help cover venue costs — every bit goes toward making the experience even more special for our students.

A Real Stage

Students perform at a proper performance venue — not a classroom. The lights, the stage, the audience — it's the full experience that makes the moment unforgettable.

Family & Friends

Warm, celebratory gatherings — the kind where grandparents cry happy tears and siblings cheer from the front row. A room full of love makes all the difference.

Lasting Confidence

There is nothing quite like the look on a child's face after they finish and hear the applause. That pride fuels a love of music that lasts a lifetime.

"Performing for people you love, in a room full of encouragement —
that's where a lifelong love of music is born."

What Families Are Saying

"My daughter has been taking piano lessons here for almost a year, and I cannot say enough wonderful things. She asks to practice — asks! That alone tells you everything. The teaching here is incredible. The recitals are absolutely magical — we cried happy tears at the last one. This studio is everything we hoped for and more."

SM
Sarah M.
Mom of an 8-year-old pianist

"We tried two other music schools before this one, and the difference is night and day. My son used to dread lessons — now he runs to the car. The patience and personalization here is unlike anything we've seen. In just four months he's playing songs I never thought possible. Truly a gift to our family."

JT
Jennifer T.
Mom of a 10-year-old guitarist

"This studio has become a second home to our kids. Our 7-year-old does piano and our 11-year-old takes voice lessons — and both adore it. Watching both kids perform at the same recital was one of those parenting moments I'll never forget. A full house, a real stage, and so much love in the room."

MLR
Mike & Lisa R.
Parents of two students

"My daughter is shy, and I was so nervous about the recital. I don't know what magic happens in this studio, but she walked up to that piano like she owned it. The encouragement she gets every week has transformed her confidence — not just in music, but in everything."

AK
Amanda K.
Mom of a 9-year-old

"We signed our son up knowing nothing about music. Six months later he's playing full songs on ukulele and begging to practice every day. The progress is remarkable. What I appreciate most is how much care goes into every single lesson — he feels like the most talented kid in the world."
